Hoi Hoiner,

Vielen Dank,

Hi Perka,
a very warm welcome to our small forum. I hope you enjoy your time here and you have a lot of fun.
To me it is very interesting to get some input from scandinavian audiophiles. Especially on components which are not that much spreaded here in germany, like the Doge 6201. Do you actually own one of these or did you just order?
Looking forward to hearing from you?

Sorry my friends but I don't speak German, I'm from this "stupid" country which voted "no" to the constitution and i'm very shame.
I ordered this CDP one week ago but unfortunately it arrived with a broken tube as you can see in the pictures so I could not really test it.
I hesitated much with the CONSONANCE (same price more and less) but my salesman told me that he has done a a-b control test in the hifi arcade with the bumps.
He told me that all agree the appassionado wins even the Guy who is the dealer for consonance.
I had a cayin CDT -17 A two month ago but i sold it, even with a tube in less I find that it sounds better.
Hi Stentor,
I am very interested in the Doge 6201. Presently I own a Reference CD 2.3 and I am wondering wether the Doge sounds better, or not? In this forum you will find a lot of Cayin CDT 17A owners. For all of us it would be very helpfull to read about the sonic properties of the Doge. Also a lot of photos are very welcome.
Where did you buy the Doge from and what experience did you make? I remember that one of the tubes was broken. How was the condition of the machine when it arrived at your site?

Ouch Stentor. It seems that you really had bad luck with your shipping. What was your choosen transnspot methode and who was the seller? Do you have any chance to get some compensation from the shipping insurance?
Was the broken tube the one and only defect or did you experience also others?

Tom_H, thanks for the warm welcome. The 6201 will arrive today or tomorrow hopefully.
Erkanzler, Nice to meet you here again!
China, the Lavardin IT is unbalaced but the P360 is balanced (and also single ended)so I can compare the opera balanced out with the Doge 6201 single ended out.
Anyway, a report of the differences between droplet and doge 6201 will follow. It will be interesting to see if there will be clearly a winner of the two or if it will rather come down to personal taste whichever you choose.
As a curiousity I can mention that here in Scandinavia we have the 2.2 mk3 (released to have Scandinavia as test market for coming models). It’s basicly the 2.2 but they have skipped the balanced outputs as they think the sound gets even better with shorter signal path, they have put in a new superclock (maybe the same as droplet), better OP –amps and better output capacitors. I have actually had this machine at home for a week and it’s a tremendously well sounding and analogue sounding cd player. I was very near to buy it as I find it a lot in head of competion for this small money (actually costs only 1400euro as introduction offer from the Scandinavian distributor who is a very nice and good person to do business with). My alternative was actually some of the new Accuphase (imported from hongkong) that I found better in the higher frequencies than the 2.2 mk3 but of course 3-5 times the money.
