Eine Frage an die JD100S Besitzer:

Welche Laufwerksart ist hier verbaut? Ein vernünftiges CD-Laufwerk oder ein Computer CD-ROM?

that's a very good one as well!!!
I like as well RCA 5963 and CV4003 for 12AU7...
Sylvania 5751 GB with gold pins, triple mica, is one of the best 5751 on the market, but unfortunatly never tried. Anyway, the RTC 12AX7S "box plates" are the best 12AX7 ever used...
I'm trying RTC E88CC in stead of Siemens CCa: they are the best ones ever used in my Cayin by far over the siemens CCa...

you are right but there is a polemique about it. Anyway, in the Jolida JD-100S, the double triode E80CC works perfectly...and with optimisation by André, it's super!
It is like the E288CC in stead of E88CC/6922/E188CC in the Cayin. It works perfectly although the voltage acceptance is different...

works with E80C until the heater supply is shutting down sometime, good luck.

same for ECC 88 and 288, 300ma Heater versus 475 mA

You are perfectly right. I would say that ECC88 is not exactly same compared to E88CC....
But André adapted the power to the tubes and made them compatible.

PS: you should understand now why I say "better longlife" for the tubes when optimized by André Devillers. The tubes are less hot...

Teiki Arii, thank you for the tube link you told me, many 100S owners think E80CC gold pins along with the 12AX7S box plate RTC is the best set for the Jolida, but not easy to find, and not a cheap tube set at all

Reinhard abvise must be right to take care about the 600mA heater and other differences! From my side I will be carefull using other tubes without to optimize the CDP first. You tell yourself the Jolida works perfectly with E80CC, but the fact that André optimize the CDP for E80CC use, tell us that the original Jolida is build to work with 12AU7, and E80CC tubes better need other changes before to set in this configuration

the tweak of andré is not necessary to use E80CC in the jolida 100s, a lot of french people removed 12AU7 by E80CC in the original configuration.
sure the great qualitys of these tubes give more differences since the CDP optimisation but you can use E80CC without problems

ENDLICH habe ich das Budget für einen Röhren CD Player bei meiner Regierung durchgekriegt...schwups, meinen Onkyo 7555 verkauft und mir einen gebrauchten (sehr gepflegten) JD 100 S geholt...steht jetzt seit Donnerstag Abend bei mir im Regal und ich bin SEHR glücklich

Der JD 100S klingt schon mit den Originalröhren brillianter als der Onkyo...mit mehr Details und mehr Spielfreude.

Jetzt habe ich ihm ein paar andere Röhren gegönnt JJ803S und ältere RCA Cleartops und jetzt klingt es auch noch weicher "röhriger".

Ich bin sehr zufrieden, werde aber noch etwas mit anderen Röhren experimentieren.

die E80CC wurde m.W. nur von Philips hergestellt und dann umgelabelt. Das kann man an den Codes sehr gut nachvollziehen. Ich habe welche von Telefunken, Valvo, Siemens und Philips, die alle aus NL kommen.

Hi Walter,
These tubes are actualy very rare. RTC 12AX7S "box plates" were made by Mullard, but astonishingly don't sound the same! They are "between" 1959 Telefunken ECC83 "diamond" and Mullard M8137/CV4004 BVA "shield, box plates". Great!
The RTC E80CC have been made, I'm not sure about it, by Philips. I have also Philips E80CC SQ, and it is still better -in Jolida JD-100S- than Mullard CV4003/M8137 BVA.

habe ein kleines Problem:

ich habe hier immer wieder gelesen, dass 2 * ECC82 und 2 * ECC83 Röhren in der Ausgangsstufe des Jolida sind.

Jetzt steht auf meiner Platine (von Juni 2006) und auch auf den Original EH Röhren zwar 2 * 12AX7, aber dafür dann auch 2 * 12AT7 (also ECC81).

Der Vorbesitzer sagte mir, dass kann eigentlich nicht sein, weil alle Ihre Player mit ECC82 und ECC83 ausgeliefert bekommen haben und er sagte auch, man kann ohne Probleme die ECC82 in die Sockel stecken kann, wo 12AT7 dransteht.

Ist das möglich? Könnt Ihr vielleicht mal auf die Platinen sehen, was neben den Röhrensockeln steht?

Und was kann passieren, wenn man ECC82 Röhren draufsteckt?

I am answering you in english because I can't speak german...
Actually, two versions of Jolida JD-100S were made:
- one in 12AX7/12AT7
- one in 12AX7/12AU7
Whatever you read, people which I know stopped using 12AT7 for 12AU7 even if it was stamped on PCB "12AT7". So don't worry, since all of my friends use E80CC in stead of 12AU7/12AT7 with success for more than one year...
