Hello Robert,
what do you think about a good old french Jadis Orchestre modded by our old fellow Heijopo. It is a fantastic sounding device for less money. Contact him if you are interested.

As for the Chinese products did you already consider the Cayin A88T? This is also a very good Amp, used by many people here in this forum.
It would be of help to know about your budget and the strengths and weaknesses of your system.

I was looking to buy an amp at www.ornec.com, the cayin a88t is to expensive for me ( i'm a 17 year old student
)
I currently have :
cambridge audio 640 A amp
cambridge audio 640 C cdp
B&W dm603 s3 (90db 8 ohm) speakers
My father has two 300B audion mono blocks of 25 watts, with tubes that need replacement (old) . I love the sound , but find it lacking in Bass, low end.
I listen to all kinds of music ( rock jazz pop....) and would probably use it for movies to ( just 2.0) .
My budget will be around 600 / 800 euro's ( 600 if I keep my cambridge ampifier , and probably around 700/800 if I sell it)
I was thinking of an kt88 or kt90 tube amplifier , because they have more power and therefore would be more allround? suitable for more music and for movies to? I will use it in a small room ( 3x 4 m)
The yarland pro 200 se looks interesting but might be to weak. How does the yarland pro 88 se sound?
I just found this amplifier:
http://www.pacificvalve.us/XSD2020AKT8.html it is supposed to be nearly as good as the cayin a88t for a much lower price. i can get it on ebay for about 700 euro's including shipping and and VAT ( BTW) + customs.

Hi,
the Yarland Pro-200SE is definitely too weak for your B&W I guess. But it sounds just so wonderful !
Needs at least a speaker with 95 dB or even more, otherwise no fun ! Bass isn't weak at all, just kind of pulsating instead of "hammering" like solid state.
Why don't you try to build your own speakers, horns e.g. with 95 dB+
There are a lot of cheap tricks around in the net and than you might also consider the Pro-200SE again !

Was für den Rundfunk gut genug war, kann für Hifi so schlecht nicht sein.

Een 2ehands Primaluna Prologue One zou best een goede keuze zijn. En het is noch een Nederlandse versterker ook.
