1957 Introduction of the TD124 Hi-Fi record player.
1958-1961 Introduction of the models TD184, TD134 with BL104 tonearm, the TD135 and the BTD-12S tonearm.

1962 Introduction of the unique TD224 HI-Fi record changer. Based on the TD124 but with smaller spindle bearing and shaft, additional gears, pulleys and levers, this 'record changer' stored it's stack of 8 records away from the player so that only one LP rested on the platter at any one time.

1966 Effective July 1st, 1966, the Swiss Thorens-Franz AG took over the entire business concerning Thorens record players and together with EMT Wilhelm Franz of Germany, they established a new business for research, development and manufacturing in Lahr / Germany, located in the foothills of the Black Forest.

ATTENTION: All brass bearing need the bearing oil Titan Super ( JB N° 1) and the other Bronze Sintered bearing Winn precision fluid N° 78 (JB N° 2 "s")

For TD 124 use Texaco= (JB N° 2).

Hallo Joel,

inwieweit ist Dir Bekannt, dass es bei den USA-Modellen unterschiedliche Bezeichnungen zu Europa gab?

Bei der Durchsicht im Unergründlichen und einer Prospektsammlung aus den USA, die mir zukam, fiehl mir dieses auf.

Hier noch einige Ergänzungen zu Deinen Ausführungen......

der TD 127 besitzt den Motor des TD 126 MK II und dessen Elektronik.

ca. 1984 Thorens TD 126 MK III VCC (Joel hast Du da genauere Daten?)

ca. 1985 TD 126 MK IV (gleich dem TD 126 MK II bis auf den Tonarm TP 16 MK III)

ca. 1984 TD 226 VCC

Hallo Juergen


Ich kenne Die TD nicht aus die Prospekt.

Prospekt Schreiber sind gar nicht nach gekommen alle Änderung mit zuschreiben, manche Tonarm haben ihre Bezeichnung sehr schnell geandert.

Der TD 126 MK IV oder Centenial, Jubilee oder Super Serie habe immer da gleich 10 mm mit gesintert Bronze Lagerbüchse bis auf die TD 320 MK II.


Dazu sind sehr viel Spezial Serie entstand wie Osawa, Schauland, Phonograph SE, Atr, Studio , Sonderwünsche...............


Die Sinterlager / Messing Lager sind bei Thorens /EMT alle gleich egal wo man sie geliefert habe Weltweit.

Ein einzig Ausnahme gibt es bei TD 160 MK II Da gibt es nicht zwei sinterlagerbuchse sonder nur ein verkurzt.

Messing Lager sind auch alle gleich bis auf die TD 2001 und 320 "S" .

Wenn jemand genau wissen will was er für ein Lager hatte ist sehr einfach.

Antriebsteller senkrecht hoch heben und nachschauen ob der Lager ein Öldepot hatte oder nicht.

Bei die version mit schwer Teller, TD 320,TD 126, und manche Blechgeräte Serie ist ein kontrolle notwendigt, weile bei dieser Version zwei variante gibt.

Dazu sollte man berücksichtigen ob man ein Stabilizer oder sonst Beschwerung dazu nutze.

Ein Wechsel mit ein andere Lageröl ist nötig um ein positive Ausgleich zu bewirken, besonder bei 7,2 mm Antriebsteller Achse.

Bei TD mit Gleichstrom Motor kann auch ein zu empfindlich Steuerung mit ein adequat Lageröl ein zusätlich dämpfung erreicht werde, aber bitte nich gleich das Sinterlageröl nehmen, es gibt daswischen noch genug Stufe.

Wer unsicher ist und optimal Lösung sucht kann ich wenn ich es weiss, gleich zwei Lageröl für den Falle geben so kommt man schnell ´das beste raus finden.

Das gilt auch für fremd Lager, wer mir die richtig Infos gibt über sein Lager kriege kein "Standard" lageröl sondern was am beste funtionniert.

Universal sowie Standard Lageröl gibt es bei Lager nicht, Der Lagerspalte, Lagerwand ,Lagerartzustand, die Pflege und viel ander Parameter zwingen ein adequat ÖL zu verwenden um die garantiert daten zu bewähren.

Es lohnt sich ! das ÖL bleibt ewig lang im Lager , wer mal ein Teller Achse ohne Öl mal lagert kann sich mal die Oberfläche anschauen, der Zeit wirkt ,Staube auch ! lasse der Deckel + Bodenplatte zu, das drehende Platte ist ein Staube Magnet, Staube ist auf dauer der grösste Feinde von Electronik und Motorlager und Tellerlager .
